Who we are

We're three friends who met as freshmen at MIT.

Jackson and Allen first crossed paths at the airport before visiting campus and ended up as roommates. Beckett lived just down the hall, and the three of us have been close ever since.

Beckett and Jackson later worked together at MIT Sea Grant, where they built a computer vision tool to help a Cape Cod hatchery analyze shellfish larvae. That experience opened our eyes to how much opportunity there was to bring modern, accessible tools to aquaculture.

That’s when we decided to start Ondara. We quickly brought Allen onboard, knowing he’d help us bring these tools to life.

We study physics, AI, and mechanical engineering — but we’ve always been drawn to the water. Jackson grew up trout fishing in the creeks of western North Carolina, Beckett clamming on the flats of Ipswich, and Allen pier fishing with his dad. We love the water, what lives in it, and the people who care for it.

We’re building practical, intelligent tools for hatcheries — grounded in science and driven by a love for all things aquatic.
